Summer Beauty Must-Haves

It's that time of the year again. Well, almost that time. Parties. Beaches. Friends. Boys. Oh, and the heat. Imagine this, you're outside hanging out with your friends and it's just so hot that you start sweating. And then you wipe your face to get rid of it. And then you wonder if all that makeup is still on your face. I'm almost positive this has happened to each and every one of us. Florida summers are terrible. It can get so hot that you just stop wearing makeup, which trust me, happens every single year. BUT even though the heat is unbearable, it is still possible for you to look fresh. Here are some of my all time favorite makeup products that make summers and Florida that much more bearable. By that much, I mean very little. I still die every year.

Summer beauty must-haves

1. BB creams are amazing. They're just amazing. That's all I have to say. BB creams are perfect for summer because they provide that perfect amount of coverage without caking up your face and also protect it from the sun because, you know, SPF is the bomb.

I choose: Revlon Photoready BB Cream | $11

2. Bright colors are your best friend in the summer. All you add is a little bit of a bright lipstick and you instantly have a fresh look. I love bright pink just because wearing it makes my face brighter and it doesn't wash out my face.

3. I wear bronzer all the time. But during the summer, I add just a little bit more because it gives me a summer glow that makes it look like I've spent all day inside. Which I haven't because I'm usually always under the AC. I usually prefer a blush/bronzer duo because I can take it wherever I want and adding a little blush gives me a nice, flushed look.

I choose: Nars Blush & Bronzer Duo | $24

4. Like the lips, bright colors are must for the nails. I don't know, I think it just makes everything a little more fun.

5. I don't know about you guys, but I sweat. A lot. I'm telling you, the summertime just kills me. And waterproof mascara is a lifesaver. There is nothing worse than ugly raccoon eyes which is why waterproof mascara is a must for everyone.

6. As I said before, I sweat a lot during the summer. And though I usually have really dry skin, my skin gets a little oily in the summer. Oil absorbing sheets are amazing and I love them because they don't ruin my makeup. A perfect alternative for this is toilet paper which is perfect because who doesn't have toilet paper?

Favorite Everyday Mascara

Hey guys! Its been a while since my last post, school has really been killing me and my schedule is a mess for this semster. Anyhoo, today I've decided to do a post on my favorite everyday mascara. I love using Loreal's Voluminous False Fiber Lashes. First off the packaging is so sleek and i love the black and gold combination, I think its so gorgeous and luxurious looking.

Back to the point, I only need to use one coat of this mascara to get some gorgeous lashes. It lengthens my lashes with the "false fibers" and really makes my lashes look so much thicker than they are. It creates these little tubes on each lash and really lengthens them. If you really want to amp it up, I recommend curling your lashes before applying. As you can see in the photo, one coat gives me a good every look for my lashes. I love this mascara, it's definitely earned a spot in my favorites list.

Cleaning the mascara off isn't too bad either, I absolutely hate taking makeup off but this mascara doesn't bother me in that area. Sometimes I use a makeup wipe, just one does the trick to get this mascara and any eyeliner off. I am going to repurchase this mascara once this tube is done!

Daily Makeup Routine

Though this is a daily makeup routine, I actually don't wear makeup every day. I prefer that au naturale look. Even when I do wear makeup, it's a very simple look that really just enhances my features. I use this routine as my go-to when I want look just a little fancy shmancy. This makeup routine is using drugstore products that I always use, love, and swear by.

Drugstore Makeup Routine
1. Rimmel London Fix & Perfect Pro Primer 2. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer  3. Revlon PhotoReady Powder 4. Rimmel London Natural Bronzer 5. Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush  6. Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen 7. Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara  8. Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick

My mother is all about no makeup which means she never really taught me how to wear makeup. I taught myself how to wear makeup and I'd like to think that I perfected the 'no-makeup' makeup look. This takes me about 5 minutes to put on, which is perfect for me because I'm always the last one out the door. Here is my current daily makeup routine:

Step 1: Prime. Prime. Prime. I never forget this step because it is so important. This Rimmel London primer is probably one of the best drugstore primers I have ever tried. It is very lightweight, making it easier to apply. It also blends in really well and makes my makeup last all day.
Step 2: For a more natural look, I tend to use concealer just under my eyes and on any other spots. I use my Maybelline concealer in Medium and then a damp beauty blender to blend it out. This concealer covers up my dark spots and it also brightens up under my eyes. It is not cakey at all which is a huge bonus.
Step 3: I apply my Revlon Photoready powder over the concealer to set it. This powder has a little bit of shimmer in it which I'm all for because I love me some shimmer.
Step 4: Even though I do love my chubby cheeks, I still like to use a bronzer to chisel them just a bit. The Rimmel London Bronzer is really pigmented and also shimmery. I apply this on my cheekbones and on my temples and it gives me that gorgeous glow.
Step 5: Cream blushes are a must for me. They last all day long and looks natural. I use the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Rose Petal and this stuff is so easy to blend out. It also is perfect to throw in your bag if you want to touch up and it gives me the perfectly flushed look.
Step 6: I then use the Revlon Liquid Eye Pen and draw a very, very thin line on my lash line. This eye pen is really dark and I use it to thicken my lash line and make my eyelashes look a lot thicker and fuller.
Step 7: I have naturally long lashes but I still like to use mascara to thicken them and make them darker. The Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara is amazing and doesn't clump at all. I love the double sided part which is honestly the main reason I bought it.
Step 8: I finish off the look with a little bit of the Revlon Suede Lipstick. This goes on smooth and it has a nice shine so I don't have to wear lipgloss on top. I throw this in my purse and just reapply throughout the day because it doesn't really stay on for long.

8 small steps that take only like 5 minutes to finish. This look just enhances my features and doesn't really make it look like I'm wearing makeup. I think it takes one Bollywood song to finish which is basically like 5 minutes. This is my go-to look and I love using these products!

The Naked 3

Today I decided to start off the blog with a post about the Naked 3 palette, how exciting! I got the palette somewhere within the last few weeks of December. Now let me be honest, I was not planning on getting the Naked 3 so soon after the release. I wanted to save some money and splurge on myself later. BUT then, Sephora sent me a $15 coupon in the mail and one of my good friends pretty much convinced me to go on and get it since it would be only $37. I thought, well why the heck not. Not only did she convince me, she went and picked it up for me. I've got me some amazing friends, I know :)

To start off, I need to just say that this palette is absolutely GORGEOUS. The Naked 1 & Naked 2 never interested me and I do not own either of them. I wasn't so interested in the browns, and the neutrals and didn't understand the hype. I'm more into colorful shadows, like my Vice 2 palette. The Naked 3 however is a different story. This might sound a little weird but it reminds of a calming sunrise, one of the things I love the most in life. The rose-tuned hues are so soft and so beautiful. And of course as always with Urban Decay shadows, the color pay-off is great! The shadows are soft, pigmented, and super easy to blend.

The rosy packaging is different from the two other Naked palettes, this one is more plastic like but it doesn't bother me. The palette consists of shimmery pinks, coppers, browns and mauves. There are 2 matte shadows included that are useful for blending and highlighting. Included is a dual-ended brush that gets the job done, especially if you are traveling. Did I mention that it's great for traveling? I took it with me on vacation for a week and created tons of looks.

My absolute favorite shadows out of the 12 are Buzz (a sparkly rose pink), Nooner ( a matte mauve), Burnout (a peachy pink), and Blackheart (an almost black with red-ish purple-ish sparkles). The only color that disappointed me was Dust, a super glittery pale pink. The shadow is really loose and creates a a lot of fallout when applying. I've found myself avoiding it sometimes. But it doesn't lessen my love for this palette! The Palette is perfect for creating neutral everyday looks as well as some deep, smokey looks if you're up for it. $52 is a lot to shell out, but palettes like these don't come along all the time. It is very unique and I'm super happy that I've got my hands on one!
